It's 1480.
Roberto, Duke of Bavetta, head of the ruling Mancini Family, knows that war is just round the corner and has been busy mustering his army.
The famous Condottiere Captain, Guiseppe Maldini, has arrived in Bavetta to once again enjoy the fruits of the Ducal warchest.
Yes, it's Imaginations, Italian Renaissance-style.
More to come...
Lovely work on your commanders and I love their names, seem to be very familiar!!
ReplyDeleteRoberto looks a suitably fine chap - good job.
ReplyDeleteSuperb work but I can't help but think that he should be called Henry Mancini just so he can march to war to the Pink Panther theme!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful miniatures! Renaissance imaginations? Oooo.... new project incoming.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you back in the groove after a couple of months with no posts. Although you've obviously been very busy on the painting front in the meantime!
ReplyDeleteVery nice Phil, l was sorry to miss you at vwc last weekend. I do hope they do not have their eyes upon The Duchy of Volare Cantare for plunder, gold and to cause a great sing song…

He looks very determined. Perhaps he's just finished reading "The Prince" by one, Machiavelli.

Imaginations and renaissance? Be still my heart. The forces mustered look great. Looking froward to seeing more.
ReplyDeleteLovely Phil, but just be aware if you use Billhooks, a mounted general dies quite easily. You will need a foot version as well.
ReplyDeleteI hear Maldini is a very good commander when put under defensive pressure 😉
ReplyDeleteVery nice and really like that shade of blue!
