Going Dutch

Been pottering around with a few projects over the past month or so, one of which is the 1672 Dutch wars.

This is Dutch regiment Konigsmark (Infantry regt 77).

The flags are purely conjectural. The coat of arms of their province, Groningen, is in the top corner nearest the flag-staff in the style of Dutch flags of the time.

Not really sure where I am heading with this at the moment. Just enjoying painting a few figures.
The North Star range has a very nice style to it. It's tempting to do more, and I did pick up another regiment at Partizan last week, so who knows where that might lead us.
But... there are other temptations afoot too!

  1. Lovely work, they look great, the NS figures are really lovely, I bought a couple of Spanish units for no other reason than I liked the figures! Looking forward to seeing more of your work with these figures, you really do them justice.

  3. Phil,
I think this is a great project, with much potential.

As always wonderful brushwork on the figures and amazing hand painted flags.

    1. Thanks John. It's a war which very few people seem to 'do', which has an appeal to me. I like venturing into fresh territory, as you know. Best regards. Phil

  7. Great work Phil - loved seeing them up close - the puddles on the base and future boats help give them an aquatic feel and makes them truly Dutch!
