Firstly with a unit of Newcastle's Whitecoats that I painted in 1995 and which won the Claymore Painting Competition that year.
The flags are conjectural.
More recently (around 2006), I did some units of Royalist Scots for Montrose's army.
Above: Manus O'Cahan's Irish
Below: Strathbogie Regt. Note the sprigs of "lucky white heather" attached to the pike heads. This has no historical precedent, but I rather like such touches on my units, so why not?!
The command vignette above was originally part of a Killiecrankie-period unit of highlanders (Cameron of Locheil's) that I painted in 1993, and which was also awarded a painting competition prize at Claymore. It was the first time I had done puddles on bases, something that was later to become a League of Augsburg club trademark as we toured around the shows doing demo games.
Very nice indeed Phil - love the commander vignette

Beautiful work Phil. Do you occasionally game ECW? If so, what rules do you use?
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Bill.
